Faith or Experience?

Faith

Most of the Judeo/Christian/Islamic religions are faith-based, meaning that a sincere belief in something that cannot be proven is required for “virtue.”

Experience

Wicca does not demand faith. We worship a God and a Goddess because we observe that male and female create life in the world around us, but the more literal types among us also recognize that the God and Goddess are merely symbols for something we see around us every day. Our way of life is accepted and taught to those who seek instruction from us because we observe that it works! Nothing else is needed.

We are not trying to buy or barter our way into some kind of mystical heaven. We recognize that we are no different from the other living beings who share this planet with us, and we do not try to set ourselves apart by claiming that our fellow travelers do not have souls. Sentience has a soul, period.

“Works for me!” has rather a special meaning for Witches.
