What Is Wicca?

Witchcraft is a very scary term for many people raised in the mainstream American Judeo-Christian religions.  This can, and unfortunately often does, lead to genuine danger for those of us who practice Pagan/Wiccan beliefs.

For several years, circumstances forced me to live in three U.S. states (Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas, to be specific) where ignorance was cherished and practiced with the fervor and passion of a religion. To my horror, this forced me into a closet I never wanted to occupy. I am a fairly competent individual when it comes to dealing with unfriendly folks, but I was outnumbered to the point of suicide in these states, and my only option was to work on getting out of there as rapidly as possible.

Well, I am finally home now, back in Texas – where a high school diploma and even a bit of college is the rule rather than the exception – and I am once again out of that closet, this time with a very final and irrevocable vengeance. No power on Earth will ever force me inside again.

I am a Witch! If you are foolish enough to believe you have the right – or the ability – to harm me in any way because of my religion, please do come and visit me. I’ve got a surprise with your name on it.

Not all Witches are pacifists . . .

On the other hand, if you are genuinely curious about Wiccan beliefs and just want to know what we are all about, feel free to browse these pages, or even to contact me directly. I am always delighted to answer honest questions in a pleasant and even a friendly manner. Further, our belief never seeks converts, so you will never encounter preaching of any kind.

Welcome!

Note: These pages are dedicated to two young friends of mine who were willing to learn despite their fear.
